Entry Level CNC Fabricator / Machine Operator

Position :
Under direct supervision, able to learn & perform basic machine set-ups and simple adjustments, while operating metal fabricating equipment / machines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Must meet requirements of the Shop Hand.

2. Capable of learning & performing basic set-ups and machine adjustments and operate metal fabricating equipment.

A. Machine set-ups:
1. Shear

2. Brake

3. Punch

4. Notcher

5. Other CNC Fabricating Equipment

3. Capable of reading fabrication blueprints and tolerances.

4. Responsible for learning performing fit-up and assembly and in-process quality control checks.

5. Make programming changes as required.

6. Assist other CNC Fabricators, Metal Fabricators, and Shop Hands as needed.

7. Abiltiy to follow specific procedures in order to complete a variety of repetitive and semi-complex tasks.

8. Follow all machine and shop safety rules and regulations.

9. Other duties as required. Education and Experience :
Must meet and be capable of all of the requirements for the Shop Hand position
High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Lifting, carrying, pushing & pulling up to 75 lbs.
Standing; constant standing upright, while working at workbenches, machinery, or operating equipment.
Stooping; frequently bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Reaching; frequently extending hands or arms in any direction.
Handling; frequently seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand, such as to turn a switch or shift automobile gears.
Fingering; frequently picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Feeling; occasionally noting attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
Hearing; constantly perceiving the nature of sounds by ear.
Near acuity vision; constant clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
Proximity to moving parts; frequent exposure to possible bodily injury from moving mechanical parts of equipment, tools, or machinery.
Exposure to noise; frequent exposure to mild to moderate noise levels. Noise from powered press brakes, powered shears, automatic punches, power hand grinders, power hand sanders, air compressors, forklift trucks, and hammering.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
